    Mosin questions

Took my Mosin to the range today for the first time, and towards the end of the second box of ammo (about round 35 or so, lacquered cheap stuff) the bolt would not close all the way on the round. Took the round out, next fond fired fine, and then the next two the bolt wouldn't close again. These three rounds that wouldn't allow the bolt to close did seem to have alot of laquer/sealant pink stuff where the bullet met the case. Is this an ammo issue, a cleaning issue, or something else?

Also, where's the best deal on ammo in the south/east bay? Mail order? The cheapest I've seen is about $82/spam can.

    Thanks.

    Re: Mosin questions

Ammo can be had for 90 shipped in a lot of places.

Your issue is probably some gunkage. Look on surplusrifle.com for an in-depth tutorial on the subject.

+1. How hot was the rifle when the issues started? That could be a big part of the problem, some of the old gunk in there heats up. Cosmo acts like a glue when it's hot, hence all the sticky bolt problems.
