uh, i dunno if it is relate to C&R but i'm just gonna ask anyways: I did my fingerprints for the COE today, and the guy charged me $73($32 for DOJ, $19 for FBI and $22 for ?) for gov agencies fees, I asked him if that's included the $22 COE processing fee which supposedly pay by check or MO. He said he dunno and he showed me that's what the computer says. anybody ever pay their $22 this way??

did you pay him a separate LiveScan operator fee in addiition to the $73? If not, it might be that his operator fee was coincidentily $22, which made you assume that the $22 was the CADOJ COE fee.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I think there was another post last week that said the Livescan people were now collecting the DOJ fee. Le'me look...__________________

Found it. It was actually from last month...
Some Livescan locations are now collecting the $22 DOJ fee so you don't have to send it in.__________________

that might be the case, but if that was the case for the OP, then his out-of-pocket expenses should have been closer to $95-100, than the $73 he said, unless the operator did it for free. Some Livescan locations are now collecting the $22 DOJ fee so you don't have to send it in.Jack

probably, but I'd call CADOJ and ask them if there is something that you need to send them showing that you paid the $22 through the livescan operator. Because the instructions still say that you need to "Submit your completed COE application with a $22 check or
money order payable to Department of Justice to:"
hopefully, the $22 is earmarked somehow iwth your ATI# and all you need to do is send in the form.Jack

the address I see on the form is this:
if that is not the address you have one your paperwork, then it appears that you ahve questions that need to be answered. In that case:Department of Justice, Bureau of Firearms - COE, P.O. Box 981118, West Sacramento, CA 95798-1118
If you have any questions, please contact the Bureau of Firearms at (916) 263-0295.Jack

I also got a call from DOJ today saying they were sending me back my check. She said she would send it tomorrow with my COE.Comment

They didn't call me but they did send my check back with the COE. Hopefully all this check mailing stuff will motivate the DOJ to update the instructions on the form!!NRA Life Member - CRPA Life Member - NRA Certified RSO - USN Veteran
I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.
