I'll have to guess it isn't a true National Match as there is no NM suffix. If there are no letters in conjunction with the serial number, by number alone the frame was probably made in 1943 or 1944. Check proofhouse.com, they're usually pretty good with the Colt manufacture dates.
If it is a National Match gun it could possibly have been built by an Army armorer for one of the Army competitors, but not built by Colt as such.Last edited by MKT; 10-24-2010, 11:46 AM. -
