black powder pitols under 21

would it be legal for some one under 21 to buy and possess a bp pistol?
from what i understand it would be but i want to make sure.

I can't answer with a true legal answer, but there is no ID check, no waiting period, you can pay with cash and walk out. Now I am in my 50s so maybe it would be like buying ciggies and alcohol and they would only ask ID if you look young.

i dont know of anywhere around me that sells bp guns, i was going to order one from cabelas.

In California you'll need to be at least 18 years old.

Cabela's doesn't have any age requirements on their site, and they don't mention any special requirements for Kalifornia so I think your fine.

Federally, BP arms aren't considered firearms, so you should be able to buy them. In California, though, I'm not too sure.

I already have more than a few cartridge guns, but some times when i have to drive a long way to where im going to shoot I get sketchy about having them in my truck since im 19.

im gonna get the 1851 navy.

Unless you really want that, you might consider the all steel 1858 Remington New Model Army instead. It is stronger because it has a top strap, and the conversion cylinders to allow cartridge fire warn against using in a brass frame.
