    Moore "Teat Fire"

Here's a buddy's gun. It's some sort of special edition with wooden box, gold plating, and a lot of extra engraving.

    Anybody know much about them?

    Moore's Patent Firearms Co.

    Pocket Revolver
A .32 teat fire caliber spur trigger revolver with a round 3.25" barrel and 6 shot cylinder. Blued or silver plated with walnut grips. Approximately 30,000 were manufactured between 1864 and 1870.

    Good - $550
    Fair - $275
    Poor - $100

My book doesn't mention a gold plated version....sorry.

Did a search last night, and found a couple gold plated ones, but didn't find too much info on them..

The "Teat fire" was one of several methods used to circumvent S&W's ownership of the Roland White patents for a rear loading cartridge.
