Just so you know, the new CMP stocks come in walnut and birch. Service Grades with a new stock usually get birch, which I like and which is actually a better stock wood than walnut, but most people prefer the looks of walnut (I like both). If you want a new walnut CMP stock make sure to let them know that.

Personally, since as a deployed person you get special handling, I would ask for one with the best USGI walnut stock that they have, and then buy a new walnut CMP stock separately to use for shooting if you want a brand new stock for some reason.

in less than 30 minutes i recieved a reply. i asked to get a really nice walnut stock if at all possible along with other thigns praising them(i guess a little ***** kissing never hurts)

Just got my SA Garand! 12 Days from mailing the application to Fedex delievery. I need some help though; the tag lists the grade as G-3. I'm not familiar with that grade... anyone?

WOW ....... twelve days from order to having it land on your door step I guess all that man (or woman) power that was being used to ship carbines is being placed on the Garands.

or 5 business days is what it was

from the time i dropped my package off in the mail box to rifle at home was 20 days. then again it takes almost 2 weeks to go from iraq to alabama.
