bought a case of 900 rounds for my m24/47 and i have heard of the hard primers that the yugo brass ammo has, the rifle is not firing some of the rounds and its getting pretty annoying recocking the same round. i remember hearing about some company making a stiffer spring? anybody know where i can find it?

Wolff springs . . .bought a case of 900 rounds for my m24/47 and i have heard of the hard primers that the yugo brass ammo has, the rifle is not firing some of the rounds and its getting pretty annoying recocking the same round. i remember hearing about some company making a stiffer spring? anybody know where i can find it?
Have you cleaned the innards of the bolt body for dried cosmo?
Have you checked the firing pin protrusion? That could be another reason.
The Yugo 8mm has the recessed and hard primer so it is what it is . . .
I have two duds so far from the '53 Yugo.
I see it as a blessing since I can see myself flinch. I have a spam can of that so this could be a good thing . . . -
the bolt body and entire gun is more then clean, i disesembled the entire rifle including all the wood to clean all the cosmo out.
how do i check firing pin protrusion on a mauser?
i am correcting my flinching problem because of that but when i pull the trigger to fire i need it to fire, i will look up that spring.Comment

I got the 2lb increase and it reduced the misfires, although there were still a few. Interestingly it was just that one bolt that had problems (K98k, not Yugo) all the other K98k bolts fired Yugo ammo without problems, so it might be the firing pin.Revolvers are not pistols
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel

Anything heavier than a 22lb spring makes the bolt harder to open and cock, and adds undue wear on the friction parts. If you need more than 22lbs to set them off 100%, you have other problems.
Your rifle may look brand new, but that spring could be 50+yrs old. If left cocked for any period of time, it's probably lost it's tension. A new Wolff spring is a cheap investment.

just fyi if you get the super duper wolf highest tension spring, don't use Romanian 8mm, it a pretty good chance of pierces the primers. it unpleasant. go on numrich and buy a replacement firing pin and a wolf spring. the mausers often were left cocked for 40 years in a box in Sarajevo, there is bound to be some ill effects. happened to a myself and a few of my friends.Comment
