    Where are they all at?

The Spanish FR8? I thought that very few were converted but I am running a serial number survey on two other sights and have almost 50 submissions. It is now looking like (based on the serial numbers) there were at least 50,000 made. Century imported them from Spain in the 80's. Where did they all go? How come, few people have even heard of them. I know their history, training, stop-gap, etc. I am just wondering why they appear to be not only scarce, but unknown as well.
By the by, a great carbine, smooth and accurate.

The target was at 100 yards, sitting with no bench rest.

They are converted Spanish Modelo '43 Mausers. They replaced the barrel with a CETME barrel, new sights, cut down stock, adjusted the magazine, etc.
They also made an FR7 (even rarer) from the Spanish Modelo '16 Mausers.
Supposedly made as trainers while the Spanish struggled to get their CETME into rapid production. Comes off as similar in length, weight, caliber and sights as a CETME. The Spanish refered to them affectionetely as Cetmetons.
