    Bayonet question (right area??)

What type of Bayonet is this:

"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country,"

Look like a M1 Garand that I have from my Dad's Pacific theater. Mine is a PAL with flaming bomb yours a different company. Here is my pic.

It's a M1905 bayonet that was made during World War II

      Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

Nice WWII bayonet, as stated above, 1942 mfg.
UC is Utica Cutlery, I believe.
It has both the ordnance flaming bomb and the wheeled cannons (acceptance mark?) markings.
It is also not a cut down version (blood groove is complete vs. cutoff).

I've got a similar one, but it is cut down like HK's.

        Probably a pretty collectible piece.

          Yup, M1905

Nice uncut bayonet. You need to attach a Garand to it.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

Awesome responses guys. Thanks a ton. I wish I had the money to attach a Garand to it but I don't.
Should I try to clean up the surface rust? if so any tricks?

None of the guns I have for sale are selling I am thinking about selling it ideas of its worth in the condition it is in? worth cleaned up?
I also have an unusual military "machete" from the same time period, I'll try to take some pics and put them up.

                Thanks again for the information.

The m1942 bayonet was essentially the same bayonet as the m1905. The main difference being a change from wooden to plastic grips which were usually black. These bayonets were not made at the U.S. arsenals but by different contractors. They were stamped with the makers name or mark, over an ordnace bomb, U.S. over the date of manufacture such as 1942-1943. The M3 scabbard made of olive green plastic was issued with bayonet.

And don't sharpen it. Bayos are not meant to be big knives or little swords.
