COE Cost Breakdown ** Update **

Ok, so i finally bit the bullet and did the COE to go with my C&R 03 FFL. It was pretty painless. I downloaded the forms from the AG website, went to the local Postal Express and paid them. I was out in 15 minutes.

$32 to DOJ to process fingerprints, $19 to the FBI to process fingerprints, $25 to Postal Annex to do livescan, and $22 for DOJ for the actual COE. Total: $98

With February looming, at least J&G Sales in Prescott has said they will honor the C&R + COE exemption for handgun ammo. Hopefully, that will get blocked by the current court actions.

I figured I'd get a jump on February in case we lose. Also, I can avoid the STUPID 10 day wait on C&R stuff.

    STUPID California Laws:
    Current CCW issue
    1 handgun in 30 days
10 day wait for gun purchases
    All assault weapons stuff
I'm sure there's more, but its late.

Updated: I received my COE on the 15th. Eleven days after I did the live scan. Not bad for a government organizaton. They now collect the $22 COE fee when they do the live scan, so you don't have to mail a check with your application anymore.

and once you get past the initial COE costs, the renewal is $22 per year. So, you end up spending $32 per year to keep your C&R+COE exemptions.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I was already exempt from that, at least until I retire in March after 32 years in LE. I can't think of one instance where I could afford more than one in 30 days, but for someone to say we can't is BS.
