very nice. your missing the oiler bottle that doubles as the rear sling attachment. not sure how much it would be worth but i know its would be worth resorting for sure.

Your carbine is one of 413,017 made by National Postal Meter of Rochester, NY during World War II. National Postal Meter produced the highest overall quality M1 carbines according to carbine author Larry Ruth.

The Blue Sky import mark means it was most likely imported from Korea.

You can obtain a new old stock (NOS) USGI front sight and front sight pin from http://www.m1garandrifle.com/M1carbine.htm.

You will also need a front sight key http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/...0B&catid=11882

For the rear sight I recommend an adjustable rear sight as it is far more usable than the earlier flip sight. You can get one from http://www.thecollectorsource.com/page/1227235 and there are many available at Gunbroker http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=192827858

It looks like someone cut off the bayonet lug and installed a non-USGI screw on the front (barrel) band. You can get a USGI replacement from http://www.billricca.com/carbine.htm (item W2)

Your carbine has a "potbelly" birch stock that was commonly used after World War II. It is perfectly usable for a shooter. If you prefer a walnut World War II-style stock the CMP sells new replacement walnut stocks http://thecmp.org/stocksets.htm
      Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

Nice Carbine , a little work and it will be a treasure.

Blue Sky was famous for stamping the barrel so hard that it bent. Check your barrel before you start spending any money on the carbine.

The occurrence of the bent barrel wasn't as common as people proclaim, so don't worry too much about it.

Last year, I bought a bunch of carbines, few were Blue Sky imports that cost me between 450-550 depending on condition and configuration.

Yours would probably be in the 400 range where it stands.

With the current carbine stop with CMP, you can probably get more from a desperate individual.

Probably not, most parts are not that expensive. it's worth about 400-500 in its current condition if it will fire safely. Blue sky was not the most popular importer of Carbines and Garands. Allot of people try to avoid them.

Buy your parts online from Fulton Armory. All parts are USGI.

Based on my experience with a Blue Sky import Garand, I'd imagine the bore is fugly.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.
