    New Owner of a Polish TT33(almost)

    Im going to be doing a trade for a polish tt33 tomorrow and was wondering if theres anything particular to know about them? Doesnt do well with dry firing or things of that nature. Also can anybody recommend a good place to get ammo for it(and a manufacturer)? Ive decided I wanted one to go with my CZ-82 which is possibly my favorite gun to shoot(yet). Anybody on here own one and have any comments?

    Polish TT33 is one of the best, if not the best, TT33 made, congrats!

    That being said, not sure how well it'll go with your CZ-82, given that they use different ammo. You didn't, by any chance, mean CZ-52, did you?

    You can get new ammo for it:

    Or your local Turner's would have Winchester FMJ 7.62x25 or Wolf Gold JHPs. Wouldn't use it for HD though, overpenetration and all.

    You can also get surplus ammo (which is corrosive, of course). Polish ammo is the cheapest these days, some places might still have Romanian ammo (which, in my opinion, was better. At least, didn't have any duds with it, and I did with Polish surplus). Bulgarian ammo was ok, too. Yugo surplus ammo is good, but more expensive.

    Dry firing it, well, the firing pin isn't as brittle as that of CZ-52, but it's still an old gun from a while back, so I'd be careful with that.

    I'm considering getting rid of the manual safety on mine. After all, the original gun didn't have it, it was only added for importing it, and I heard it may cause issues.

      I just bought one last week.
      Heres a video I made about it

      WTB Irish firearms:
      old SxS shotguns, Enfields (Irish contract or FF marked), RIC marked carbines or revolvers, odd ball flintlocks.

          @Nick
          As far as how well they go together I do know they are different caliber pistols I simply meant that they are both C&R pistols and as such more interesting(and more affordable) than some modern handguns for me.

          @Harmoniums

          Awesome video man I love your accent.

            Markus, you've got a CZ-82, you should get a CZ-52 to keep it company too!

            I picked up a can of Polish surplus for my CZ-52. Apart from the cracked case necks(which are fine, they just eject funny) it shoots great and if it's corrosive it's very mildly corrosive. It IS magnetic however. The only non-magnetic Tok food I've seen is Prvi Partizan from Wideners. Cheaper than commercial stuff, but still more expensive than Polish.

            On Target will let you shoot bimetal and steel, so I'd recommend heading down there if you buy surplus.

              I had thought about getting a Cz-52 to go with my Cz-82 but I like the look of the tt33 better if I can ever convince my girlfriend to look the other way and let me buy a gun it might be okay but cash is tight right now so Im giving up a gun I like for a new one.

                I can totally understand that, the old Tokarevs are hot looking. I sated my urge with a Norinco 213 that was cheaper than any TT-33 I could find. Bonus is that I can swap out the barrel and bushing and convert it to 7.62x25 in a heart beat.

                      Picked up my tt33 today and I've got a couple questions about it. I can't seemto get the slide lock to work and it's got a little wiggle in the grips anything I can do about that?
