At my door. To call a Finnish M39 a mosin is an insult, the dang thing is a Finnish mauser! The bolt is smooth, trigger crisp and the bore is sharp overall construction feels like it could handle anything. I will never again buy a 91/30 after tonight!

To call it a "mauser" is an insult. A dime-dozen fully whored out design that every country has implemented at one point in time in one form or another?
"Mosin" is so much more prestigious.Originally posted by AJAX22Anti gun BS...

Nice, I already planned on leaving it on the wood, but its coming off the metal.
Going out Saturday morning, I have some stuff to ship first thing Friday along with some honey-dos to accomplish. I have some .310 barnes loads from custom cartridge that I've snagged specifically for this rifle. Hope they work.sigpicComment

You make them seem like a bad rifle.Wait 10 or 15 years or so and those 91/30's wont be so cheap to buy.Comment

Finally took her to the range today and came up with the below picture at 50 yards off hand. A very odd way to start the range day shooting a pentagram. Any who I am very pleased that this M39 shoots better than the K31 that I used to have with an excellent bore.

Vern, you are ruined now, all other Mosins will be inferior!
M39's can be picky about your ammo choice, try a bunch of different kinds. You'll find "one" that makes real tight groups.
Before the secret got out about Czech 45grn practice ammo, and it was easy to find, I bought a couple of cases. Has a plastic filled copper jacket for a bullet, that leaves the muzzle at about 3800fps. Velocity drops off fast, but it's good out to 200yrds, very light recoil, and cycles semi autos. Great short range varmint bullet. One shot DRT kills on rock chucks.
All my Mosins shoot well with it inside 100yrds, but the M39's love the stuff! Makes no sense that it stabilizes in a barrel with a twist for bullets that weigh 4 times more, but it does.Comment
