Need help on these two revolvers! PIC FRIENDLY, please help!

Ok Pulling out a few more revolvers to get more info on. One is a Colt Police Positive in 38 S&W, with what I believe are original Mother of pearl handles, this gun is in MINT condition. Serial number is 169XX with an A stamped above it, serial number is on frame, and on the bar that swings down with cylinder.

Second I know very little about. Model 1901 Hopkins and Allen 32 S&W top break. Not in nearly as good of shape, and I have not cleaned this one. Serial number C56XX

Also (i know this isn't the ammo forum), but I found a few S&W 32's marked US in the center cap, was this a military pistol? Or just military ammo or what?

Ok enough talk, now on to the pics. 5 on this post, and a few more to immediately follow on the next. (not trying to bump this)

Is that gun rug/case made of cheese?

Oh, ok. I didn't read that part. Deer cheese.

That's a nice Colt. As far as I know, they first came with rubber grips, then checkered walnut. I don't think they ever had factory ivory/pearl. Maybe a custom order, but I'd say they are not original. Colt will run the history for you for around $100.

      The cartridge is worth .75

      // 8499 .32 Smith & Wesson, lead, copper primer marked US, headstamp .U.S. 32 S.& W. $0.75

It cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.
You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and cannot be lent.
You alone and our own have earned it with...Your sweat, blood and lives. You own it forever.

      The title is....."United States Marine".

The H&A looks to be in pretty good shape -- If the cylinder indexes properly it can be fun shooter.
The cartridge is not military, it was made by the US cartridge company and probably should be saved as a collectble.
None of the small caliber top break revovers were ever official military side arms, but I do have a US Revover co. 32 S&W , handed down from a family friend, that was issued to him for shore patrol duty in the canal zone about 1915.

The h and a is in decent shape. idk how to describe it but most times i cycle the cylinder there is one place where it slips. bot it just needs a new ejection rod or to be fixed by a gunsmith. its safe to fire though and can be hand cycled. i have not shot it yet tho personally

I need more help on the H&A, I need a part for it. I need a replacement ejection rod, or whatever the part is called that has the gears on it the turn the cylinder. Also I'd kinda like to know what its worth when clean and working 100%. Also maybe what its worth clean and working 80% (like it does now)

The part you want is called the Extractor. Perhaps gunparts corp can help.
If one of the ratchet pads is buggered sometimes they can be carefully reformed and/or filed to shape. If really buggered, all pads can be reshaped and a new longer "lifter" or hand can be fitted.
All this is often more work than the weapon is worth, especially if the work is not DIY.
Finding parts is often complicated by the multitude of brand names used by the several manufacturers and the similar but not interchangeable parts. --- my ha-penny

sadly, the h&a's aren't really worth all that much, even in great shape. my boss found one in his dad's shop in much worse shape aesthetically than yours, but functions about the same, with one cylinder that doesn't quite align without help. they sell for 150-800 dollars, depending on condition. the bright side is, that even if you can't get it timed right, the round is too weak to do anything but shave off a bunch of lead on it's way into the forcing cone, lol. my dad had an old .38 s&w that did the same thing. he still laughs at how he could watch the bullet fly downrange it was moving so slow. anyhow, they're neat pistols and certainly functional pieces of history. if you intend to shoot them you'd be wise to reload with cast bullets and very light loads. they'll never be terribly accurate or impressive, but it's fascinating to go out and test guns that are older than your grandparents. most of mine are and i love taking them out. even some of the old guys ask, "what the hell is that thing?" lots of fun. enjoy them! or sell them buy something else to enjoy. you can't lose either way.

The olt looks like it was refinished. Some of the letters look a bit washed out. As for the H&A, they aren't worth much. But they can be fun to shoot. Finding parts is unlikely. There were several variations of these models, and they rarely documented when they made a change. The little break-tops by all manufacturers were notorious for that. They did actually issue some of the .32 S&W break-tops to female couriers here in the US when they were traveling stateside. I would have to try to track down the specifics on it later.

this could be true, although I checked it closely and the "washed out" part in the picture is not actually washed out, its a light thing. However the 8 on the barrel looks more like a 3. So it could have been re-blued. Its actually for sale, price has been dropped because of re-finish. Bummer but oh well, still a VERY nice pistol. Locks and functions truly flawlessly.
