COE before C&R

Hi there, I just emailed ATF last week for a C&R app. I am told sometimes it takes a few months to get it + the time to pros. Can I do my COE now or do I have to wait for the C&R?

you can do it in any order you wish. Since CADOJ is pretty quick with the COE (~2 weeks), most people just wait until they get the approved 03FFL from BATF (which can take weeks to months) before they send off for the COE. Since the COE does no good without the 03, no need to get the COE until afte the 03 is approved.

I ordered my CR App on 9/7 and got it via USPS 1st class mail on 9/9! It's already in the mail back to them. So now need to play the waiting game...

6 day turn around for me from sending request getting application and atf charging me $30!! Just waiting for my license in the mail!!! Next is the COE!!

I just got my application in the mail today so now I have to fill it out and mail it back. Do I need fingerprints or anything? I havent read it all yet. after that I will have to start on the COE.

no fingerprints for the C&R, just fill out the green form and send half to ATF and the other half to your CLEO. Any fingerprint forms sent can be ignored, the contractor that sends out the apps includes fingerprint forms by mistake occasionally.
