    C&R list

So, is a 1911A1 that was made 50+ years ago a C&R pistol?

    Yes.

Firearms automatically attain C&R status when they are 50 years old. Any firearm that is at least 50 years old, and in its original configuration, would qualify as a C&R firearm.

Actually the AR-15 came out in 1960 so it ought to be available this year, assuming you have one of the originals.

The M-16 is the Class III full auto version.

For Californians, we can get excited 50 years after the introduction of the first Off List AR15. How were Colt's earliest commercial AR15's marked?

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

                Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.
