Help on some Walther p38 markings

Sorry but I have no pictures so I will try and describe everything as best as I can. First off it is stamped on the left side of slide that it is made in France so I think its a P4? No Walther banner. On the front left side of the trigger guard is what looks like a Japanese Mum. On the right rear of the slide is a waffenampt with NO numbers under it (and thats the only waffenampt on the entire pistol). Above that is what looks like a Finnish "S" like what is seen on some Mosin Nagant stocks but not exactly. Lastly, below the "Waffenampt" is what looks like two crossed cannons.
My friends cousin owns this pistol and is looking to sell it. I went and looked at it and shot it and it shot OK, not great. Mag was a replacement and had a date of 06/53. With all these weird markings Im thinking that someone made some stamps and was practicing. I have no experience on pistol markings and my searching has found nothing like what I saw. Im thinkin humped pistol am I right. Thanks.

Close up of the FGR police property mark on the left of the trigger guard.

The crossed cannon marking below the St. Etienne proof is a Portuguese proof, indicating this slide was originally manufactured for a Portuguese contract.

The other markings to the left are Portuguese.

The guns had been purchased from a major wholesale dealer in Sacramento so I queried the owner (I knew him). He responded that he had questioned them, too, and the original importer (Jovino) in NYC had joked about them...and said they could add even more Nazi stamps if he wanted them? He was told that it was just a joke.

Now, of course, these come complete with some BS story when they are sold....so, be aware that it is nothing other than BS!

    Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.
