You can put up to 150 gr. of "FF" BP in her. If you are rolling paper
tubes your finished charge will be .50" x 4.0" long. That will drop a Water Buffalo. For targets @ 100 yards 60 gr. is fine. .50 Cal black plastic sabots take a .451 lead round and are a lot cleaner to shoot.

first you gotta use the gun thats a given. i would recomend checking out cva.com they have a link on videos that will teach you how to use your buckhorn. i have a buckhorn though you can shoot up to 150 grains its not necessary. i have found the best accuracy at 90grains using a .50 real lee lead cast. as far as bullets there are bunch places like cabelas that you can get bullets with sabots and cleaning supplies. as for powder you can use .50 cal pellots or loose in either goex triple 777 or pyrodex. just remember 2ffg black powder. i highly recomend checking out cva.com

Please correct me if I am wrong. I thought is was one grain per caliber. Hence, .50 cal gets 50 grains.

Not at all, that'd be a pretty weak load.
