M24/47 or VZ24?

I was looking to make my first Mauser purchase in 8x57 or 7.92x57 for you purists..... so which do you think?

They're both over 50 years too right?

I've had both, and I still have two Vz24s. However, I traded my 24/47 for a mosin M38 scout setup, and felt like I got the better end of the deal. Vz24 ftw.

yes, vz24 = abbreviation for the model 24. They are C&R, I'm going to order one from AIM surplus very soon...

Bought a Big 5 VZ24 for $99 2-3 years ago on a whim. Glad I did. Cleaned it up last year and I really enjoy it. My mistake was letting my GF shoot it. She loved it. Long story short... Big 5 didn't have any VZ24s But they did have a Mossin. A year later, Now my poor VZ24 is in a 6 gun cabinet with HER FOUR (4) Mossins.

Warning... This WWII stuff is addictive.

hand selected, but I did sin and refinish it. Bluing was 100% and rifling is near perfect, but dark.
