    +1 on a Swiss K31, or an M1 Garand.

    Can't forget the M1 Carbine

or even an M91/30 from Big 5, there cheap!

its the mosins from big5 that have let me down as well as that steyr. i bought 2 and ones a 99.99 paperweight. i think ill get some thing that cost a bit more and is better quality.
i put a bulgarian round that meant for a DT MG through my mosin with the crooked barrel before i knew it was crooked.that tin of bulgarian usual kicks hard as it is rumor is the yellow tipped light ball has extra strength charge. its kick so hard it cracked 2 of my ribs. i did not have it exactly in the pocket...doh!
yugo m48 or czech Vz24. may be an arisaka or m44 if i find one for the right price.
theres a gun show here in sac next month and ill check out what they have too.

Czech Mausers can be found in really good condition for a relatively inexpensive price these days. I got a Czech K98 for 350, bore was like a mirror, stock was excellent. Great shooter.

I have a G1911 that I picked up super-cheap, and I just fire the Wolf ammo in it. Was able to get some at a recent gun show for 14 bucks a box, which I don't consider to be that bad these days. The stuff shoots pretty well, too.

I just kinda wish my G-11 hadn't been Bubba'd into a "sporter". It has an offset mounted scope, a chopped stock, no iron sights, etc. Good thing I only paid 25 bucks for it!
