Just a guess, but I think they do. There is a stripper clip guide built into the top cover and I've seen numerous posts of Hakim owners talking about loading their rifles with stripper clips, but never seen a single reference to any other style of 8mm stripper clip besides Mauser style clips. The Egyptians were using Mausers in 8mm before they went with the Hakim, so they would probably have wanted to stay consistent with the clips. You might have problems using those crappy one-piece Turkish clips, but you don't want to be shooting Turk 8mm out of a Hakim anyway.

Yeah it sounds like K98 strippers would work just fine. I've seen videos on youtube of people loading them with strippers but they've never said what kind of strippers they were. I guess I'll try to find some K98 strippers then thanks.

Proper clips for the Hakim and FN49 in 8mm have two bumps on the side and not three like the common clip. The clip is fitted horizontally into the square inset on top of the open action and pivoted down vertically to allow the rounds to be stripped into the magazine. Instead of pulling it out, the clip is mearly flicked out with the index finger, the second clip pivoted in and then the action tripped to close which ejects the empty stripper clip.

Yes, tho it will take a minute to figure it out. Smle-man has the trick.

Three bumped clips work just fine. Insert with pivot point between top two bumps (makes sense when you do it).

On my Hakim, the Turk 8mm stripper clips do not work. The 1950's Romanian and Yugo stripper clips work fine. Did not try German stripper clips..Do not use the Turk 8mm ammo in your Hakim, the gas curve on the ammo is not stable and tends to be on the high side.

lol, when i had my hakim, the first time i tried to stripper-load it i jammed the stripper clip halfway into the magazine. figured it out later but i was so pissed i just pulled the mag off and loaded it outside the gun for a while. yeah, DON'T use turk ammo, bad things happen. gotta get a good gas tool too. JB on gunboards makes them and sells them. real nice guy. think they're on ebay too. hakims are fun, i want another one now that they're frickin' expensive.
