    '03A3 " Metal parts"

I have an 03a3 that has the original stock, but was cut down and sporterized many years ago. I really want to get it back into shape again. The problem I am having ( and maybe I have not looked long enugh ) is the metal parts, screws, barrel bands, bayonet lug , ect ect ect. about half of that are missing. Does anybody know where I can get most, if not all, of these parts for the stock, without buying a copmlete rifle, or spending an insane amount of $ ?

    Thanks.

Try posting in the "Parts Wanted" section of the CMP forum http://www.thecmp.org/forums/ , and for that matter any related forum you visit.

    Good Luck

Also check the for sale area of what used to be Culvers Shooting Page (they used to be jouster.com). They are now at milsurps.com.

I just logged on a took a 30 second look and found ads for 1903 bolts, and a 1903 barrel.

Register there, peruse the WTS ads and post a WTB ad with all your bits.

They also have a 1903-specific forum where you can probably get good guidance for parts sources as well.

Might want to check Springfield Sporters online site, too.

            Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

                Re: '03A3 " Metal parts"

                mixerman73711,
I just returned a sporter 03-A3 to military configuration and I bought all of the parts I needed, including the stock, from Numrich, ie gunpartscorp.com. They had all of the parts I needed, including all of the screws and they came to me in excellant to new condition. The stock is quite nice. I bought the 'scant' stock.

Don't forget the band and swivel right behind the nose cap.

Post up some pics. Some of the 03 guys might be able to tell you what you need.

Ok, here are some pics, they are from my cell so excuse them. You can see where it was hacked up and where the parts are missing, plus the one screw behind the bolt.

That isn't bad at all. In addition to the new stock http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/...10&catid=11905

                        you need

                        an upper band http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/...30&catid=11905

                        upper band screw http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/...60&catid=11905

                        stacking swivel band http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/...50&catid=11905

stacking swivel and stacking swivel screw

Transfer the buttplate, lower band, and bandsprings from the current stock.

There is no screw behind the bolt. That is the other end of the hole the rear action screw (at the rear of the triggerguard) screws into.

Have original USGI parts. PM sent. Most of what Gunparts and Sarco list are imported, new manufacture, unless noted otherwise.
Nice looking rifle, before bubba got to it. How does it shoot?

It shoots great, the rifling is perfect, sights are the best of any gun I own. I took a hog 3 years ago with it.
