Will Finnish M39 stocks fit on a Russian M91/30 action? Barreled actions come with the bolt?

Is this a better deal than the $69.95 Aimsurplus M44?

Well, I guess you'll see what you're buying plus no shipping charges...

M44 at Aimsurplus would be a better deal if you had a C&R license. otherwise, most people would have to get it sent to a FFL and pay for transfer fee on top of DROS.

I see, that $30 C&R license sure helps a lot, you get your money back with just 1 rifle(FFL dealer fees)

For some reason the big 5 in Santa Barbara stopped carrying rifles. They always had pretty nice stuff and good prices.

I picked up my m44 and 91/30 for 75/each at big 5.... 90 bucks isn't that great of a deal, imo. They always run those fliers every other week

Big 5 has these on sale just about once or twice a month. The benefit of getting one at Big 5 over an online place like AIM, Dan's, Classic etc. is that you can hand select one. I found an unissued M44 a while back at Big 5 for $70. It's a 1948 Izzy, so it doesn't have a high collector value, but it's neat to have an essentially brand new Mosin-Nagant.

Cgmoe hits the nail on the head. Big 5 has decent prices with the sales but you are still getting hammered pretty good with DROS. The main benefit I see is the ability (if you get the right salesperson) to do a hand-select. I did this with a Savage Enfield and get the best of a pretty sorry bunch at my local store. There was one that looked like a sewer pipe. Mine had a "patina finish" and dingy outside but cleaned up nicely with a little steel wool and stock oil. Inside, the bore was excellent and it shoots terrific. I think for rifles like the Yugo 24/47 and the Enfields, the ability to do a hand-select and avoid a pitted barrel can be worth it. Especially since big 5 usually gets guns graded as good by Century (although my M38 from last year was graded EX).

                          Big5 posts their advertisements on
"Give orange me give eat orange me eat orange give me eat orange give me you."

Last Presidents Day they were $75. Still at $89 you get a lot of gun for the money.

Has anyone here ever been able to use their C&R license in a Big 5?

I enquired in my local store, and the manager had no idea what a C&R license was and fobbed me off with, "I will find out for you and make sure all my staff are informed about this license, by the next time you come in". I doubt he ever did. I couldn't be bothered to ask on my next return, as they no longer had any rifles worth rushing out to buy.

Life can make you do many things, even kiss a man with a runny nose.
