91/30 sniper at Big5

i was was just at big 5 on H street in chula vista. they had a matching number mosin nagant P/U sniper for $499.00. receiver,and turn down bolt had stamped matching numbers. but the scope number was engraved. no counter boring and the barrel looked to be rather new. i didn't get chance to check the buttstock for numbers but the manager said there are a few big5s that have them. just a heads up for you folks!

i kinda figured as much. but this was the first one i've seen at big5. i've seen the 91/30s they ahve. but was jsut surprised to see the scoped ones there. thanks for the links to the other posts. found some interesting info in some of them. now i'd like to find a decently priced repro scope for my $99 nagant...

I saw [probably the same] rifle when I passed through SD a couple weeks ago.

I'll assume they're all over the place because I saw one earlier this week in my local Big 5. Honestly I don't think $500 is worth it. The most I'd put on my Mosin is a mojo sight.

I have seen them for as low as 350$ from distributors. They are decent if you dont want to spend the 800$ on a real sniper.

SOG had them on sale for $350 this week, I ordered one.

I didn't even wipe it down yet.

Looks like it is a 1943 Ishevsk, Barrel looks good, not counter-bored.



Unfortunately it has the obnoxious Century billboard on the action.

The EL Cajon Big5 had a "sniper" at 500 a couple months ago. No one was jumpin' at it iirc
