Just picked up my new rifle today from a fellow CalGunner. It's a Yugoslavian M24/47 Mauser. Still has a lot of cosmoline on it, previous owner never shot it.

          Thanks!
Question: Where do I find the year date stamp on the Mauser. I've checked the receiver and it only has the crest on top, 24/47 and factory stamp on the left side, no marks on the right side at all. The import stamp is at the front of the barrel.... hard to read, I need a magnifying glass .

My first C&R purchase was a K1911 and the second was a K31, both are great shooters though the K31 is a bit more accurate. I bought a slip-on Limbsaver recoil pad and it does a nice job of softening the recoil.

Collecting C&R rifles is like a horrible horrible disease.

I'm pretty sure they don't. Might be able to check the serial number online some where, I don't no for sure.
