If I had that kind of money to spend, I'd snatch that up in a heartbeat. For those of you not familiar with the name, that is the Major Winters of Band of Brothers fame.

+1. ANYTHING purported to have connections to anyone profiled in Band of Brothers (or The Pacific) would make me extremely cautious. Fakery and fraud are rampant in WWII collectibles.

I remember him showing off a captured handgun at the end of BoB but I could of sworn it was a p-38.

                  It was a Walther PP.

It is possible he collected more than one war trophy.
                  Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

I think that I'd need a photo of Major Winters holding the said Browning HP, as well as a handwritten, ink-signed letter from him to temp me to buy it. On a related note, a few years ago, I had the honor of spending a little time with SGT. Don Malarkey, also of Easy Company. The subject came up about his friend Don Hoobler, whom you may recall accidently shot himself with a German pistol when they were in the area of the Bulge or Foy. I asked him if he still owned the pistol (remember in the Band of Brothers it was given to Malarkey after Hooblers death). He stated that he did still have it, but that it was NOT a Luger ("that's Hollywood"), as is depicted in the TV series, but was in fact a Browning High Power. Geologyjohn

That paperwork sure doesn't look very authentic.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

That actually makes sense, I was really confused in the movie as to how that guy shot himself like that with a Luger
