What year did the Swiss switch from walnut to beech stock on the K31. I have a 1949 k31 and can't tell which wood it is made of? Can anyone help?

1946, starting with serial number 868,901, beech rather than walnut was used for making the stocks.. Have you taken the Stock off, Mine has the serial number inside it that matches the rest of the rifle. If your does too and you replace it, KEEP THE ORIGINAL!!!!!!-General George S. Patton Jr.

slip on pad or you could try this
and use your choice of recoil pad to adjust LOP.
