    modified mosin nagant

I put a new stock on my mosin nagant and i am now having problems with the
bullets feeding into the chamber. has anybody had this problem and if so what was your solution. i think it's putting pressure on the interupter, at least that's what another guy called it. i tried grinding some plastic out but it didn't fix the problem, yet. i'm going to dig some more plastic out and hopefully it fixes it. for anyone who thinks i'm defaceing a collectors rifle, i've done my homework and it's not a rare gun but it shoots fantastic so i want it to look modern. thanks to anyone who can help

Well first off which stock did you go with? What type of Mosin Nagant do you have? what year and manufacturer? I'm assuming a 91/30...but you would probably get better feedback if you confirmed which variation you have.

Did you have problems with the old stock? If not, put it back in the old stock. Are there shims in the old stock? I have put both the m38 and 91/30's in the ATI synthetic stocks and have had no problems.
Once you switch it back, look real close at all clearance points. Try to replicate everything on the wood stock. You'll get.

I believe the stock is interfering with the interrupter (011), you may need to inlet it a little.

The feed ramp on Mosins is attached to the magazine. If the plastic of the stock prevents the magazine from going all the way up into the well in the receiver, then the feed ramp would not be high enough, and you would have trouble.

You were right to go at that plastic. Use a sharp chisel, and remove enough so that the feed ramp comes up to the edge in front of the receiver.

It's OK if you take too much off, because you can shim it with brass.

Pics would be good. Best of luck.

+1 for the interupter. I bought a 1939 ex pem that had a sporter stock on it. After I replaced it with a correct stock I had issues with loading and ejecting. A little sanding around the interupter and it works perfect.
