    Looking for new rifle

    Hi All,
I have the C&R bug quite bad. I'm looking for accurate, cheap and shoots cheap ammo. Bolt action and also Semi-automatic(don't know about any other than the sks). I am curious to see what is out there so I prioritize my buying order.
I already have a K-31 and a M39(which I love both). On my list to buy is a K98 and also a Yugo mauser 24/47(and obviously a 91/30). I don't want the swedish mauser because it shoots extremely expensive ammo. Accurate and Cheap is the name of the game. I have heard good things about the French Mas 36, so that is also on my list.
    Thanks!

M91/30. Or a K98, or any other gun that shoots 8MM mauser. Thats about the cheapest two guns I can think of, well there is the M1 Garand from the CMP but .30-06 isn't as cheap as the 7.62X54r or the 8MM mauser.

Never really priced French 7.5, can't believe it will be that cheap.

Soo... Scratch the French MAS 36 since ammo is to expensive. Not sure why I thought it was cheaper. Well that's disappointing. I still need to look into more rifles! I guess i'm looking for sub 2-3 moa if that is possible. Please help give me names to look into!

"Accurate and Cheap is the name of the game"

then look no further than the 91/30. the rifles can be found everywhere for $100 or less and i've had groupings at 100 yards rested of 3". and when you buy the tins of 440 rounds of Soviet milsurp ammo from places like AIMSurplus, you're paying less than $.25 per round

For an inexpensive semi-auto, go with the Hakim. Shoots cheap 8mm Romy ammo just fine.

MAS-36 is quite doable since 7.5 french components is available for reloads. Surplus on the other hand...

You could always pick a a Jap Arisaka, not sure on the price of them ammo, but that a C&R rifle youd need to fill in a WWII C&R collection. And like said about, the K98 is amazing, I LOVE the ones I've had and have.
!!WANT TO BUY and looking for shooter/beater/reenacting grade German Waffen proofed handguns from the WWII era. I just want shooters, Im not looking to spend oodles of money, I just want shootable examples to play with!!

!!!Also looking for a shooter/rack grade USGI M1 Carbine (Earlier the date the better)!!!

i have a type 99 long rifle and if you're looking for a cheap shooter that is NOT the way to go. a box of 20 rounds of 7.7 Jap ammo made by Norma usually goes for over $30 on gunbroker. and it's hard to come by. Graf and Hornady used to make ammo for them but i don't know if they still do as i haven't seen it.

7.7x58 reloads pretty easily, it's basically a rimless version of .303 British

but definitely not cheap if you just buy rounds.

Right now I am really crushing on my Vz24 that I got from AIM when they had 'em in stock. Beautiful bore and great metal, although the stock itself was ugly as sin and since I just bought it as a scrubbed crest shooter I bubba'd it with some tongue oil.

if you want to shoot cheap, reload. Otherwise you are too limited (and ammo will get more expensive as time goes on) in your choice of milsurp
