I do not believe the Germans used a shortened version of the 98K during WWII.
actually the K43 is slightly smaller than the G43. the Gewehr 43 is the rifle and the Karabiner 43 is the carbine version.

No it isn't. The names may be different but I can assure you G/K-43's have the same dimensions.

        That's correct.

Although the nomenclature would lead many to believe that the K43 was a shortened version of the G43, this is not the case. In mid to late 1944, the Germans changed nomenclature on the issue semi-automatic rifle from G43 to K43, supposedly at the request of the Fuhrer.
        Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

I have 30 G/K43s, they are all the same size.

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=151801 - my pics in it are of both G and K43s.

There were a few long barrelled test versions made by Walther, I'd give alot of money to own one of them.

if you mean a Yugo capture, i've never seen a Yugo captured 98k with SS markings on it.

                  Because it's a Mitchell’s Mauser's creation. With Mitchell’s Mauser's, anything is possible.

IIRC, Luftwaffe k98's have an L on the stock, and Kriegsmarine k98's have a K on the stock.
Kriegsmarine rifles are marked with an "M". If you want a matching 33/40, pm me.......

that company infuriates me. i can't believe they're allowed to flat out lie about what they have and fake the rifles to be something they never were.

Why not start a petition to shut them down?

they've been in existence for a long time. The argument has been made to the point they've actually changed the advertising to make it sound real without actually stating so.

I saw the guy on the way up to Germany one year, he doesn't look shady but pretty sure he was on the way to Zastava for more mausers

Zastava still manufactures 98 actions for the commercial market, CZ does too...

That's why mauser actions are still so prevalent.

Whether the mausers sold through the catelog ads are modern manufacture remade to look old, or are old guns remade to look valuable is entirely up in the air. But one thing is for sure. Those mausers are not as valuable(or genuine) as they advertise.

when the whole world is at war and guns are stamped in tens of millions, there is neither time NOR need to record which unit serves with which specific rifle. Only thing that matters is that they have guns and ammo..... Think logically.
