Does anyone know if it is technically legal to carry a cap and ball revolver concealed without a permit? It seems like as far as the law is concerned, cap and ball revolvers are not considered firearms.

I would appreciate any information on this, or if anyone has a source for information on the subject.

Cap and ball revolvers are considered to be firearms and handguns under most sections of California law. They are exempt from FFL transfer requirements in California, but they are still considered firearms under all other parts of California law.
