    Fire arms shipping

I will try to keep this short.
I bought a C&R rifle in a auction(mossberg 151m(b)) , The auction house has no idea what they are doing . They contracted a 01ffl to ship the rifles . The auction house charged me $40 saying it was a background check , When confronted on the subject they had the ffl call me and they said the $40 was for the rifle to go through their books . If it did infact go through their books should they have sent a copy of their FFL with the rifle for my bound book ?
On top of it all they charged me $115 for a box of collector ammo i did not bid on or recieve , they are being very slow on crediting my card back . I have placed a dispute with my credit card company .

You have a ffl 03? If you do, they can send the rifle directly to you without using a ffl01 dealer.

Isn't it furstrating when the seller has no idea what they are doing? Good luck with the transaction!

Many 01 FFL's are hesitant to send an actual copy of their license and are not required to do so. They should provide you with their name and FFL number.
Please let us know who this auction house is so we know to avoid them.
Hope you get this worked out.

my question is , is there a legal requirment for a class 01 ffl who ships a fire arm to class 03 ffl to include his license number for his bound book?
The Auction house was Beth Rose auctions and the FFL was Clelands outdoor world.

The 01FFL is supposed to get the FFL information of who the firearm was sent/disposed to, which would be your FFL info. I've emailed a PDF scan of my C&R FFL to an out-of-state dealer before.

As the receiving FFL holder, you are also entitled to the FFL information of the disposing FFL holder. If they don't want to send you a copy of their FFL, they should at least give you their FFL number which you can verify on the ATF website: https://www.atfonline.gov/fflezcheck/

I'm not sure what the legal requirements are, but the FFL number of a particular FFL holder isn't 'secret' information either, so there's no reason why the 01FFL should be withholding that information.

When two FFL's transfer a firearm, only the FFL who is acquiring the firearm is required by the regulations to provide a copy of his FFL to the disposing FFL. When you acquire a firearm from another FFL you can either record that FFL's name and address in your bound book or their name and FFL#.
