    Oh dear where next

I've stuck to Lee Enfields previously, several No.1 mk3s and a No.1 Mk3 HT sniper; A few No.4s and a No.4 'T' sniper version, No.5 and P14 - all in .303 Brit. Then I got an Enfield L1A1 and an L42A1 (corresponding era sniper rifle) which opened the 7.62 can of worms for me. Now I've gone and bought a Garand, which means I have to buy 30-06 ammo also. As that rubicon has been crossed, where should I go next in term of rifles, and preferably also a sniper version thereof in this caliber. I have ABSOLUTELY no knowledge of this area / caliber / history at all. Any recommendations?

Sorry, are you looking for a sniper in .30-06 or 7.62x51 or 7.62x54r?

You are required to get the M1C and M1D scoped versions of the M1 rifle. Since you already have the 3006 ammo, you will need a Springfield 1903 and the 1903A4 scoped version. After shooting the 1903 you will realize a 1903A3 is also required.

      Good luck

Don't forget the M1917. Since you already have a P-14, you must get it's 30-06 brother.

Don't forget you at least need one of the garand's baby brother, the M1 carbine.
