Cheapest Flint lock on the market

What's the cheapest flint lock gun (pistol or rifle) on the market?

I was thinking it might be fun to try.

Do you want a flintlock or a percussion cap?

Either way, Dixie Gun Works has some of the best prices.

While they are older design than Cap locks the Flint locks are rather complex -- Cheapest may not be the best way to go -- my ha-penny

Do you want something old fashioned like American Civil War, or even earlier in American history, like the fur trade or Revolutionary War era? Did you want to go even further back? Matchlocks are the earliest firearms that has ergonomics remotely similar to ours. But there are a dozen different types of flintlocks from hundreds of makers, snapping locks from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, doglocks from England, miquelet from Iberia. Wheellocks are even earlier even though they are more complex, good luck finding one, much less cheaply. You can even go back to pole-guns using a linstock to set them off.

There are tons of suppliers, all over the place to order from. Most of the cheapest early firearms are being made in India right now with all the spotty QC that implies. There are several importers bringing them in country, going over them and reworking them as needed making some of them a very real bargain at the price point offered. Loyalist Arms is the name of one that comes to mind immediately. Check out the Muzzleloading Forum for links and information.
