    Picked Up a Remington Rand 1911A1 dates to 1943

    It has been reparked. Mainspring housing may be early RR; ribbed was more common for late RR.

    It's in nice condition and came with an original box that matches the serial number.

      Not yet. Stripped it an photographed it. Looks like it's good to shoot; but, I will probably put a spring kit in it first.

            Salinas Walmart had ammo, 16.97 a box of 50, I bought 4 boxes, Federal just under 70 dollars. I have 8 boxes of federal HST stuff. It goes for 40 to 50 a box, plus shipping. I can't use the hollow point for range practice, a dollar a round in the back of my head keeps me from hitting the target in the front of it.

                I've heard newer spring kits in older weapons dont mix, things break, and jams occur, just what I've heard not sayin its gospel
