How long for your C&R renewal

    Hey all,

Just a quick question, how long from the mail date did you recieve your renewed C&R. Mine expired 4-1 and I drug my feet and didn't mail off my renewal until 3-15. Now I'm hopeing to get it back in time to order a M1 carbine by the 30th.

    Look forward to your response,
    Rob

Sorry, can't answer that question, but on the same note, does it take a long time for a change of address? I just remembered that I sent mine in last November when I moved and haven't heard anything since.

I guess I better call somebody.

I sent my renewal in back in early February, the ATF charged my card on 2-16-07, and I still haven't received my new license yet.

Last time I renewed, it didn't come in 7weeks. I finally called them, and they said it had been sent a couple of weeks prior. The lady confirmed my address, and said she would put a new one in the mail. I got it in 3 days. You might want to give them a call.

I sent my renewal in at the end of February and still haven't received it. Mine expired 1 April.

Now let me see if I have this straight. You send in $35 and wait 2-3 months to get your new 03 FFL license. Then you have to wait 1-2 weeks for the vendor to get your license in their system. Then when you renew it at the end of the year, you have to wait another 2-3 months for your renewal. So at most you can only use the license 8-9 months of the year. Plus you have to spend $140 each year just to break even, assuming a 25% discount at your favorite retailer. Is it really worth the hassle and cost?

It's good for 3 years. I've mostly used mine for non retail transactions out of state and some internet gun auction purchases. I've only bought one gun from a retailer (AIM)

Looks like I've gotta make a call.

My C&R has paid for itself many times over. With that said I've spent more money on rifles and ammo just to use the c&r. Lesson= if you get a c&r you will have to spend money to make it worth the investment. make sure you have room in your budget to buy all the new "toys" you come across online.
