Very nice -- I've seen a number of such sets on GB and wish I could buy one!

My set is subtitled "The poor man collection"

He has all the cool stuff. The bag and action cover, on and on.

But I'm going to improve my photo's ASAP.

I've got the action cover for mine; got it on Gunbroker for $5 - the seller didn't know what it fit. How he got it I have no idea.

Here's the GB $5 action cover - it pays to endlessly scan the listings late at night! Yes, the bayonet is off kilter - I had removed the FH and reinstalled it and didn't index it properly. The bayonet lines up with a notch milled into the FH which is why the bayonet is at an angle.

Jack, I can't sell you any of my SMLE's, they are my babies!

I have most of the accessories for mine except for the carry case. My scope case is the newer plastic one.

I am having a hell of a time getting that FH off - to the point I'm wondering if lining it with sheet & tapping one of the holes with a screw to remove the grenade ability is an alternative.

Did you clear the shim that holds the FH in place? You have to use a punch to straighten it out where it is indented up into the notch on the FH. I then used a proper diameter rod through the flash hider holes and enough leverage and turned it off.

Got it - boy those tabs have to be flattened out just so. I've removed the sliding metal donut, which I presume is used to set the range of the grenade. Now what do I do to cover up the threaded end of the barrel? I presume the flashider can not simply be screwed back on. Does anyone sell a screw on brake or sleeve to cover the threads?

Is it possible to sleeve the flashider & cover the holes and if so is it no longer a flashhider?

You can put the flashhider back on and use the jamb nut to hold it in place but because of the FH the rifle is still registerable. If he FH is sleeved, replaced by a muzzle brake or simply removed then the rifle is no longer registerable.

I haven't seen a MB for sale specifically for the 49/56 but a gunsmith could probably get an unthreaded one and thread it for the rifle.
