Durable semi auto that will cycle Walmart? I want to have a gun to shoot many thousands of rounds.

which do you want cycle, regular Walmart or a Super Walmart? The chamber size will have to be bigger for a Super Walmart. so much for the pun.

You need to define your question a bit: long gun, short gun, rifled or smooth etc.

I may be proven wrong, but I don't think there is a manufacturer of quality firearms out there whose gun will not last "...many thousands of rounds".

uhh? semi auto what?....Pistol.....Rifle? Walmart carries good ammo. What do you use which won't cycle Winchester or federal? I use both in my .45, and federal 150 grain 30-06 for my garand. I buy it when I'm outta surplus...it runs about 13.99 I think....which is much better then the $1 a round stuff big 5 sells.

If by Walmart, you mean cheap ammo, you should look into surplus military calibers. There's still a LOT of Soviet/Russian ammo in crates out there for less than $.20/rd available via mail order. The only way to shoot a firearm cheaper than that, without getting into reloading, is with a pawn shop Marlin 60.

Mossberg 500 or Remington 870, either will last a lifetime+ of normal use and still made in America.
