    Mosin M28/30 value

How much would a rough condition (dark stock and little bluing), good bore shootable M28/30 be worth? More than $150? I know little about them but I know they are different from your run of the mill 91/30.

Assuming this is the Finnish M28/30, they would be a lot more I think.

Those are actually pretty rare. It is a Finnish M28/30 and they really didn't make a whole lot of those. I would probably guess one of those would fetch between $250 - $350 in the FS section. From a dealer, not really sure maybe $275+ if you could find one. Def much more than $150.

        $400+/-

Values have dropped a bit, but I sold a nice one 2 years ago for $550.

$400 is a price floor for those. I had a line on one a year ago but it disappeared when the owner retracted the ad. Bought a FR-8 instead. I have too many Finnish rifles as it is, but I only really want two more: a straight-stock PL M39, and a 28/30. And a SKY 28/76. Okay, so that's three. I can quit anytime I want, honest...

Could be terrible lighting. Hard to say if its black paint or not.

It's probably a black walnut stock, I've got one like that and it's almost black. If you get a chance to take a closer look, it may have a N.E.W. (Westinghouse) or Remington cartouche on it, I believe they refer to them as English Contract.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

The Finns didn't usually paint their stocks black. Sometimes it looks that way, but it's just pine pitch and lots of handling. Pine pitch can look like enamel if it's been handled enough.

Well I hope someone here got it. I just talked to the guy and he said someone called in on Saturday and got it.

"hey man that thing was really beat up I wouldn't feel bad about missing it"

I hope whoever got it doesn't butcher it.
