OK did the livescan thing and paid through the nose for it. Now do I just send in the forms all filled out and that's it? I paid the livescan for teh FBI portion of it. Do i have to send any payment with the form or is that it?

You should also have paid for the DOJ portion with the FBI portion... total should have been around $75 or so depending on the Livescan operator's fee.

Put your ATI on the first page of the application and send that to the address on the application with a check for $22 and watch the mail for 2-4 weeks.

Short answer is yes.. there is a fee to be paid with the application.

Also, look at the signature block on the application, I do not recall if your signature has to be notarized.

I just wanted to clarify that in addition to the FBI background check fee, there should have been a fee for the CaDOJ background check paid at the same time.
It would have been all one charge, which is why I mentioned that it should have been about $75 (maybe a bit more, depending on the Livescan operator's fee)... if he only paid $50, he may not have gotten the DOJ background check that is required.
