    SMLE No.1 MkIII Bolt Faces.

    I searched....

I just headspaced a SMLE that I bought and the handle fell on a Field gauge. I need to find at least a #2 bolt face, and maybe a #3. I've read that these are somewhat hard to come by and Numrich seems to have them available (although it doesn't give you a size option).

    Where can I find a number 2 and/or number 3 bolt face for a SMLE No1 MkIII...?

You can't. Only the bolt heads for the No4 and 5 rifles were numbered. Mk III bolt heads were never numbered. Finding one that will decrease your head space is a matter of measuring the one you have then measuring others until you find one that is long enough to solve your head space issue.

There's a guy who sells these bolt heads on gunbroker.com with their measurements listed. Good luck.

Sorry meant to say he sells on ebay: http://shop.ebay.com/dodge77vashti/m.html

          Hmmm...

In that case, I need one a few thousandths larger than 0.63" (maybe 0.635 or something).

I'll check the guy on Ebay. Thanks Berg!!!
