Taking bets on how long it takes for people to blame us "dadgum Kaleeforniyans" for there being no magazines sold with the carbines.

My guess is that I'll have no need to hurry and get an order in. With the SG M1's I just got, the CC took a big hit. I guess I'll save up for IBM when they're released. I'm a geek so an IBM would be great to have! I guess we can expect $600+ for the smaller makers.

I'm right there with you: total computer geek, so I want an IBM carbine. And I also need to let the CC cool off after the recent Garand purchase.

I'm going to guess $595 for the mid-level manufacturers, and $695 and up for the more collectable ones.

And my understanding is that the Italians didn't return any magazines with the carbines, so that is why they're not included.

PRK or Jersey is not the reason for no magazines, ODCMP received no mags with rifles. At least we can get them; they are banned in Jersey.

The price is a little more than I hoped, and a little less than I expected.

Yeah, right. $500 for USGI Carbine? That's a steal in today's market.

My fear is all those people who already buy tons of Garands for resale will start buying tons of the Carbines for resale as well.

I was expecting $700 per carbine.

The only limiting factor in Carbine sales is the fact that there is only one Carbine of each manufacture per person allowed for each person.

Considering all of the hype, this is not that bad of a price. Lots of people were thinking $600 each

I figure if the people buying rifles from flippers are willing to pay the inflated prices, it's their own fault.

People who are in the know will steer clear.

I'm kinda on the fence, but I suppose I have until the end April to decide whether to get in line or not.

It's somewhat amusing how they're pissin' and moanin' on the CMP forum about the price.

I don't think in the least that the price is going to deter any one from buying a carbine if he wants one. To me at least, those prices are a rip off, but I'll probably end up picking one up too, so I won't whine too much. Think of this, go to a mom and pop gun store and see the odd M1 Garand that comes in, they'll charge anywhere from $650-900 regardless of the condition, and it will be gone by the next day. Same here. I give it a year before they're out of them. Just think of all the guys with tons of dough that will be buying 5 or 6 at a time.

I like the Carbine, just don't like the round..
