    I'd say $25 or $30 bucks......... I'll take it......
Seriously, The CMP has those 196 round cans for $96.00 before shipping. check the price a the CMP. Here is the link...

I got a couple of them last year and I can't remember if they were that much or not.. If you are gonna do these for a good deal let me know I may be up for a couple of them... Thanks
    Good luck on the sale

Oh and by the way those are not stripper clips they are enbloc clips if they are for the M1 Garand.....

I don't really want to sell them, I just wanted to know what their value is.

Looks like $96 per can (plus shipping and waiting) http://www.thecmp.org/ammosales.htm

Will Winchester Gun Club or the Piru range allow steel jacketed ammo? I'm trying to find somewhere to shoot my Garand.

Actually, the CMP is selling them for $0.50/round. It is the shipping cost that bumps the overall cost to about $0.54/round for that configuration. The 240 round order would be $0.55/round, shipping included.

Several days later the bolt was rusted shut but I guess the fouling wasnt TOO bad.

No magnet-attracting ammo at Piru range, year round.

I'm getting 3 cans delivered this morning!
Next to me in the blackness lay my oiled blue steel beauty. The greatest Christmas gift I had ever received, or would ever receive. Gradually, I drifted off to sleep, pringing ducks on the wing and getting off spectacular hip shots.

                      Depends.
From CMP or on the scalper market ?
Some highly under-informed individuals will pay truly stupid prices for almost anything. For example , $850.00 for a WASR last winter. Then there are unethical scalpers who remind us of 40 year old fat guys who brag about scoring on 15 year old cognitively challenged young ladies or , perhaps , young boys and/or domestic animals.

I saw some guy at a recent San Jose gun show selling HXP for $60 per bandoleer. Yes, they are out there...

I feel much better picking it up from CMP for half the price - even if I have to wait some 30 days for it.

                        Just my $0.02.
