    Chilean mauser dis assembly

I have removed all screws, taken off top handguard, removed floor plate etc. for the life of me I cannot get the trigger guard / mag well assembly to come off. Am I missing something obvious? I can't grab hold of it any other way but the trigger guard and I don't want to exert too much force in case I bend it. Any tips?

Hmmm. Might try puting the floor plate back on and tap it from the top with a dowel/mallot (?)

Some milsurps have wood that's swelled enough to make part removal tough sometimes.

Once you have the barreled action out of the stock replace the screws which held the action in place. Only screw them in a few turns. Use a brass hammer or other non marring type hammer to tap each screw head. Go back and forth between each screw rocking the trigger guard out of the stock a small amount with each blow of the hammer.

          Guess I had that backassward!

The info I gave was for a stuck action....

How about use a proper sized punch or wood rod in the bolt holes. Just alternating taps on each end should loosen it.
