I'm going with Fate on this one.......they were meant to feed from the mag, not encounter a chambered round when the slide comes forward.

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

if you have an import safety it may have jammed the sear or disconnector

        Burnout...

It looks to me as if your retaining pin has been peened in. that will make it hard to get out. the best way would be to press it out from left to right... it will not go right to left. you could punch it out but it will be kinder to the slide to press it out. then replace it with a split pin type.

The import added safety is from the devil. Maybe the gun itself is rejecting it They are pretty well known to mess things up too. I'd take it out if it were my pistol. It's unneeded with the half cock which is BOMBPROOF.

To quote the inventor of the TT-33, when asked why he designed it without a safety he replied, "Eees not safe. Eees gun."

+1, those safeties are designed to make the gun more unsafe.

I'd rather have it loaded, grip panels out with a live grenade strapped to it than operate that deathtrap of a "safety"

Remember kids! It was liberals who designed the tokarev "safety." Despite the fact that they had no experience in arms, or any business in designing for them; Liberals were the ones that OKed the on-frame import safety.

I think the trigger or sear (?) is worn out. SOG said they will exchange for another but I am out shipping and the Transfer $75! fees.

Thats Not expectable! tell them to send a new parts! I doubt it's the trigger. See if the sear is in backwards I've here of this on chicoms. or have them switch out the hammer group.

I've been scratching my head at this question. what would cause a slamfire?

To date, the only things I can think of is dirt, or the import safety, which I have since removed.

maybe my T54 is different somehow...
