What Martini do I have? *Bunch of Pictures*

My Uncle is wanting to sell his Martini and would like to know a little more about it. It is dated 1875 and has a bunch of stampings and cartouches, (I took a bunch of Pics to show the markings). It has a sling and bayonet. Basically what I would like to know is: Model, Make, Caliber, and any history behind this cool rifle. I am new to Martini's and am very interested in them. Oh yeah, and most importantly-How much is this bad boy worth? Hope you guys like the pics!

International Military Antiques acquired a large number of these that were stored in Nepal. Your uncle's bayonet and sling look like they have Nepalese markings on them. IMA is selling them with bayonet for $885 http://www.ima-usa.com/product_info....roducts_id/918
          Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

That's an early production Mark I that was upgraded to the Mark II pattern (notice how the second "I" in the "Mark of Arm" marking on the action body is off-center compared to the downward facing lock-viewer's mark). Looks like you have a Pattern 1876 triangular socket bayonet with scabbard. The "N.S. Nep" stamped beneath the rear sight bed stands for "Native Service, Nepal". The British supplied the Royal Nepalese Army with a great many obsolete weapons over the years. Christian Cranmer from IMA USA bought up a huge cache of antique rifles from Nepal a few years back.

Your rifle appears to be in very good condition. I see some loss of finish on the barrel and action body, but I don't think it adversely affects value all that much, since the overall condition of the weapon is so nice. I see the RSAF Enfield roundel stamped on the buttstock, as well as some arsenal makrings. Could be Rawalpindi or Fort William....would have to see more detailed pics. If you care to look me up on my website (martinihenry.com) I can give you more details about the rifle.

                Cheers,
                Jason

^And this is why I love calguns; you can pretty much count on *someone* having the knowledge. That's so cool.
