"Lost" rifles

My wife rolls her eyes at me because every time a gun comes on I have to pause Tivo and examine it. I know Sayeed was carrying an SKS around in the last episode, complete with folded bayonet. Couldn't make out what Rousseau was carrying, some sort of bolt-action. I did notice that in the scene where she shot at them she was cycling that bolt action pretty fast. And the foley was killing me again, because in another scene you hear the guy pull back the hammer on a pistol for that dramatic threatening effect, but when they zoom out you can see it's a hammerless. Funny stuff.I've never seen an American flag burned at a gun show. -
In a few episodes back when they found the weapons room, there were HK G3s, AKs PSG-1 etc.
And what did that idiot Michael grab when he went after his son...A freaking bolt action.....
Not to mention when they did an attack on the others, they carried pistols and one AK (with a 10 rounder of course)....Gee I didn't know that if you were lost on an island in the middle of corn-hole nowhere, you would still have to use 10 rounders....I'd laugh if it was an OLL.
Frankly...Lost has Lost me....I'm more confused than ever...I'll stick to THE UNIT...thank you.I'm Rick James...Be-otch!!!!

Couldn't the producers have applied for a permit like they have to do here?
IIRC, the M14s that made an appearance also had 10 round magazines as was hashed out in offtopic a couple months ago. I think they even had Kali breaks on them, lol.
The more recent episodes definately had a lot of com bloc rifles: SKS and Mosin Nagant.
I wonder how Rousseau kept her bolt action from turning into a rust bucket since it's blued.
LOST had better get things sorted out because it's starting to go in too many directions.Comment

I'm rooting for the "Others"--although for all their mad ninja skills, they still manage to suck. Why don't they just take who they want and kill off the rest?? Gilligan and the Skipper look HARD compaired to the Oceanic bunch (even Cpt Fallafel).
I had high hopes that Jack had finally been killed. Dissappointed again. Why couldn't his father have been on the plane instead?
And what happened to all the monsters? I am dying to see the Charlie guy get torn up.Comment

Just remembered, his dad was on the plane. They should dig him up and forget about Jack.
Maybe Lock will shoot him from the weeds next week??? We can only hope.

Jack is going to become one of the leaders of the others, but he will betray them in the end. I believe that freewill will truimph over predestiny at the end of the show. If I was going to be in a firefight and had military training why would I pick a single shot Mosin Nagant over an AK?

Yer all (Lost) haters.
Remember Sawyer's fantastic polar bear kill with the 9mm from Season 1? And how freaked everyone was that he had the gun? Made him give it up. After the bear dropped at his feet I was thinking he was definitely the MOST qualified to have it.Comment

He's the coolest one on the island. The "no nicknames rule" they enacted one or two episodes back has really stunk.Comment

Yeah, like killing a Polar Bear with a few shots of a 9mm is really possible.
If I was on an island full of polar bears, ghosts and a group of crazys all wanting to kill me....and I found out that two guys found a huge weapons cache and were keeping it to protect me from myself. There would really be some Butt Whooping.
Who the heck are Locke and that whussy doctor to dictate what happens to the rest of the group.
Lost has definitely lost me....it was interesting at first, but with their blatant anti-gun message...I've taken it off my TIVO.
The only good thing about Lost if the hot Korean chick. If they just did more episodes of her in a bikini, I'd come back.I'm Rick James...Be-otch!!!!

Well, as someone who lived in Hawaii, I have to say that their laws are looser then CA. Yes, they have a 10 rnd mag law but other then that you can get pretty much anything. There is no need for OLL's or fixed mag kits. Want to own a 50 ca. go ahead. To own a pistol, you take a NRA course (6-8 hrs) then you get a notarized certificate that doesn't expire. Want a Long gun permit, the PD will usually ask you if you want to pick one up at the same time you do your paperwork.
As for LOST, I like the show. It's always interesting to see where they're shooting. Problem is with JJ Abrams doing other things, the show writers have lost their focus and are making a bunch of 'fluff' episodes that don't move the store forward any. It's all about some back story and then maybe a minute of actual progress.
For the first season I did a thread on the guns of lost on another forums with screen caps of all of them. I don't think I have the caps saved anymore.
