Mosin M38s, what are they worth?

Assuming I were to find a decent looking shooter grade Mosin M38, how much would it be worth?

Seen some go for sale for $160 or so here on Calguns, is this how much they are worth these days?

Big 5 has em for $139 until tomorrow I believe. I think $150 to $180 is average.

They are not easy to find anymore. Another option is a 91/59. They are usually in really nice condition.

I paid $200 for a M44 last week, although that included all the trimmings and ~300 rounds of ammo. Was it *worth* that much? Well, it was to me as I was looking to add one more carbine to the collection.

The carbines are a hard animal to catch now days. I think maybe in "value" they aren't much more than they used to be, but people are definitely willing to pay more than they did in the past due to the fact there aren't as many on the market now days.

Tim, $200 isn't a bad deal if it was cash and carry. 300 rounds of ammo is probably $60-70 worth of ammo so you got your M44 for about $130-140. Avg price.

I have to agree with REM222 about the 91/59. They were fussed over at the arsenal and are often quite nice. Mine looks great, with really nice smooth metal and it shoots terrific.
