    Fn-49

I am considering selling my FN-49, what are they worth now?

It's a Egyptian 8mm. Stock is of course pretty dinged up as usual, but the metal I'd say is 90%. And the barrel has some pitting in it. But this thing shoots wonderfully. 1-2MOA at 100 yards with irons.

I am considering selling it only because I already have another one.

I think these are selling for $500 and up, depending on condition. Is it a Century rebuilt? I am interested in acquiring a FN-49 rifle... Where are you located? Looking for trades?

Don't know if it is a Century rebuild. I am looking for cash as Uncle Sam is whipping my butt coming April 15.

      Am in the Bay area.

Did I mention, it's a C&R so it's FTF. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that is legal right?

Yep! That's correct. It's more then 50 years old, so you can do a PPT just like the rest of the free USofA.

How much do you want for it?

Can I say I'll take it and be first in line?

Century imported Egyptian FN49s go for about $600 in excellent shape. The Century guns were built from parts and typically have seen little use since they were not used in military service. A dead give away is that the Century guns have a plastic buttplate.
Check back later for a witty comment.

Nope, mine is the yellowish metal buttplate with a yellow coin in the buttstock in Arabic writting.

Century put together FN-49 have an infamous reputation for reliability. The original Egyptian FN-49s will command more $$$.

Without detailed photos, it is difficult to give a good estimate, but I think you should be able to get at least $650 for yours. Of course, if you are willing to deal with the hassle of put it on the auction site, you may get more than $700 (or a lot more, depending on the bidding frenzy).

Since you are not local (to me), I will pass. Good luck on your sale.

                    Thanks guys,

Look to seeing this rifle for sale soon. I think I will create a "package deal". Will throw in a new barrel and some ammo to get the juices rolling.
