obviously a full-auto specimin would be an act of god to legally procure.

but what about semi-auto versions? i see people with 1919's. anybody sporting the MG42?

are they attainable?

I believe they are but I know very little about them. Im sure they are expensive.

If they have a lock on the latch cover they are good to go or if they are w/o their features they are good to go. I have 1 coming off of the 10 day wait soon and will take it out to the range in a week or so. With some recent news I received I may be forced to sell it within the next few months.

A friend has one. Really fun gun to shoot. It lights up the night shooting all tracers. At 1500 RPM your ammo goes pretty fast.

My M53 (the later versions of the 42, and what you'd get from Henderson Defense) is fun as all hell to shoot. If you have the means, I highly recommend getting one. Keep in mind though, beltfed items are an addiction all of their own and need different care than a regular rifle. I'm currently saving for an M2, but that's a ways off.

BTW - the semiauto 42 & 1919 do not qualify as C&R as they are modified from their original states, not to mention the sideplate of a 1919 and receiver of the 42 are new manufacture.
